In case anyone out there is wondering and debating whether or not to perform eye surgery. I would like to take this opportunity to share my Lasik experience and hopefully ease some of your anxiety.
Pre surgery:
I’ve been thinking doing Lasik for the past 3 years and finally have the guts to walk into Dream Eye Center for consultation. Few things that hesitates me from doing it are: 1. Lasik is not for everyone. 2. The result is different from one another. 3. I don’t take pain well (NOT AT ALL)…..
Despite of my surgery-phobia, I’ve made an appointment (since I started to have trouble with contact lens). And to my surprise (REALLY), Dream Eye Center gave me enough confident to book a surgery day after the consultation. They are caring, friendly and professional; they answered all my questions and gave me additionally advice.
Surgery day:
The surgery itself was quick, and simple; and was relatively smooth and painless. After half an hour in the post surgery resting room, I was able to go home without much pain. Note: since I can’t take a shower for the next 3 days after the surgery, I took a nice loooong shower before I do the surgery. And I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go out for the next 3 days….
Post Surgery:
I was very lucky that I heal faster than average patient (according to the optometrist). Still, my first few days was not easy to get by….I stayed home for the first 3 days, can’t watch TV, can’t read books, and very sensitive to light….etc…
The worst day for me was the third day after the surgery, my eyes hurts and they were irritated by the protective lens (they are like contact lens covering my pupils). I had to take those pain killers they gave me for the first 3 days…
On the forth day, I went back to the clinic and they peel off the protective lens, since then, my eyes are no longer painful and I already see things better then pre surgery! (Still can’t read books….but I can watch TV and use the computer etc.)
My eyes are naturally dryer than normal people; therefore, I used a lot of artificial eye drop to ease the dryness. Other then that, I have no other complication what so ever~
All in all, I’m glad that I did it and I’m glad that I did it in Dream Eye Center.
