Last December I decided I had finally had enough of wearing glasses
so I decided to make an appointment at the Dream Eye Centre in Myeongdong.
Anyway, when I arrived I found that all the staff were really kind and were able to take me through all of the tests to see which surgeries I could undergo.
After finding out I was able to receive LASIK or LASEK,
I had the 2 processes explained to me in detail and I felt a lot less nervous knowing what was actually going to happen in the procedure.
I was actually able to arrange the surgery for the next day so I came back with my friend and we went over the specifics yet again.
The actual surgery was completely painless,
you can tell what is happening but feel nothing and the doctor tells you exactly what is going on through so I was as comfortable as could be (also, there's a plush toy you can hold during the surgery which helped calm me down a lot).
Afterwards I laid down in the rest room for twenty minutes and after that I was given a prescript ion for eye drops
and told how often I needed to take them and we arranged another date for my check up to check that the surgery went well.
There was a little irritation in my eyes after the surgery but I, personally, did not need to take any painkillers.
There were brief moments when my eye would sting really badly but after a second or two it would be gone.
If you stay inside, in the dark for the next few days you should keep the pain to a minimum and the staff also give you a list of things you should do or avoid to make sure your eyes stay healthy and pain-free while they heal.
After two or three weeks my eyesight was already 20/20 and has just kept improved since. The staff have been incredibly helpful if I have had any questions about the procedure and it is always a delight to see everyone at the check-ups. Would definitely suggest here as the service is great and is made so that you feel as comfortable as possible.
