I originally wanted to have LASEK surgery in the summer of 2010, but because it is not possible to swim for a month afterwards, I delayed until October.
The surgery itself is amazingly fast and pain free. The only slight is discomfort is from having your eyes held open by clamps for a few minutes. This is only a very minor issue however. I almost fell asleep during the procedure because it was so pain free.
I experienced some post-operative pain on the 2nd day after the procedure and became very sensitive to light for a day or so. I had to take one day off of work because of this, but that was all. As I have to stare at a computer screen all day for work, my eyes also became very tired for the first week.
Overall, the experience has been very positive, and it is great to have normal vision back after many years of wearing glasses and contacts. It actually took some time to realise I didn't need to wear glasses any more. I was constantly reaching up to adjust my glasses, only to find that they weren't there!
I would recommend the procedure to anyone who is tired of glasses and contact lenses and I would recommend Dream Eye Center as the staff is very professional and the faciltilies state of the art. In fact, their new location is more like a cafe than a clinic. The post-operative followup is also extensive and professional.
